Everyone really wants to do something, but there are few that will put forward the needed effort to make the necessary sacrifice to secure it.

The Directions (in Easy steps)

  • Stir fry the julienne carrots in a little oil for about 3 minutes over high heat
  • Do the same with the julienne chayote, and set both aside
  • Prepare the juice by mixing the soy sauce, vinegar and sugar
  • Stir fry ginger, garlic and onion for about 2 minutes in 5 tbs of oil over high heat
  • Add the juice and the chopped tomatoes, then mix well over high heat for about 2 minutes
  • Add the fried julienne carrots and chayote, then mix well and remove from heat
  • Season the fish fillet with salt and pepper and fry in a non-stick pan until done.
  • Place the fried fish fillet on plate, then pour the vegetable mixture over it
  • Garnish with the finely chopped chives

The ginger can be either grated or finely sliced. However more benefits are obtained if it is grated.

    Lovely recipe, Naomi.

I was interested in the benefits you listed for the ginger. It reminds me, again, how food is another kind of medicine…supporting as well as nourishing our bodies.

We do tend to forget (and need lots of reminders) that what we put into our bodies either helps or hurts us.

    Hi Chef Naomi,

What a great article, I loved reading it!
This post came just in time as I didn’t have any idea of what do to with fishes. I usually cook them in the oven with pepper, and salt and garlic too. My children got fed up of the same recipe. It’s time to make some changes in the kitchen:) I will definitely try the fish with ginger this week end! I am sure they will love it!
Thank you for this excellent post!
