Spinach Lamb:

Since it has no cholesterol and helps regulate the blood sugar level, spinach is a healthy choice for your diet. Moreover, spinach is rich in a variety of nutrients which can combat different types of cancers. More details below after the recipe.

The Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  1. 500g boneless lamb, cut into small pieces
  2. 500g fresh spinach; trimmed and washed

Spices & Condiments

  1. Ginger/Garlic paste (1tsp)
  2. Turmeric powder (½tsp)
  3. Curry powder (2tbs)
  4. Cumin powder (1tsp)
  5. Chilli powder (½tsp)
  6. Tomatoes (qty=4); Fresh, skinned and chopped
  7. Onion (qty=1); peeled and sliced
  8. Olive oil (4tbs)
  9. Salt to taste

Herbs

  1. Basil leaves (qty=3)

  1. Fresh spinach (quantity as above)

The Directions (in Easy steps)

  1. Put some water to boil in a saucepan then add the spinach
  2. Let boil for 10 minutes; then strain, chop and keep aside
  3. Fry the sliced onion and meet for about 5 minutes
  4. Add the ginger/garlic paste, turmeric powder, curry powder, cumin powder, chilli powder, the basil leaves and 3 tablespoon of water
  5. Stir-fry gently for about 3 minutes
  6. Add the chopped tomatoes and some salt.
  7. Continue frying for about 15 minutes until the oil separates and rises to the surface.
  8. Add a glass of water, cover and let simmer until the meat is done
  9. Add the chopped spinach together with some more salt and stir well
  10. Cover and let cook till the spinach is well puréed

Tips:

When you want to enjoy a little green in your sandwich, try considering some spinach leaves instead of the usual lettuce. They are more tasty and healthy.

Precaution:

However, spinach also contains oxalic acid which may not be good for kidney and gallbladder patients. So you need to consult your doctor before adding spinach in your diet if you have kidney and gallbladder problems.

    Nowdays young people doen’t eat vegetable that why they are obese or have many diseases that they can’t cure

    Spinach is good but u can eat it on a bread or a butter toaster bread on Spinach

    I was not aware of the Spinach that cure cancer

    Your article highlights the many health benefits of spinach very well. I especially like that you have suggested spinach as a substitute for lettuce. I’ve been doing this for a while and I always get weird looks from it. Which I don’t understand because I thin eating lettuce is just pointless. No flavor or nutritional substance. I’ll just have a glass of water instead.
