    • So sweet that you love tamarind, it’s indeed mouth watering.
Sure you can use another one. Any protein product will do with the tamarind.
You can try some shrimps as well.
Have a nice meal my dear Nusrat.

    Oh, yum!

I’ve been looking for more recipes to try that use tamarind paste. The tang it imparts to a dish is unique.

I am pleased to know that it is a medicine as well. I like the thought of using foods that are also medicines. It just feels “right” somehow.

      Hi Netta,

I’m honoured that you liked the recipe.

Indeed tamarind is very healthy specially with its anti-cancer and anti-diabetic properties.

    • Hi Netta,

A small medical advice: Try to add tamarind more often in your diet in winter. It will prove to be very helpful because of its anti-bacterial effect.

And for diabetics: Tamarind will prove to be helpful throughout the year. So enjoy your tamarind.
